Our Design Process

1. Discuss and Research

We'll start off your project by communicating directly with you through whichever method you prefer. Our goal is to gain an understanding of your business and your industry so we can deliver a website tailored that suits them both. Once we've gained a thorough understanding of your business, we'll start on the research for your industry. We want to know what your customers are looking for in their web experience with your company. It's been said that good design begins with good research and we believe it, which is why we dedicate the first part of your project to getting to know you, your business, your industry, and your customers.

2. Wire-Framing and Basic Design

While our design process is insanely fast compared to others, we do like to take things one step at a time which is why we start off with the basic design elements. During the basic design process, we'll determine the main layout for your website, what colors should be used, what fonts to use, how items should be sized, and what items on your site should have emphasis.

3. Concept Design

This is where things really start to get exciting. During this stage we'll take all the information from the last two steps to create a brand new, unique concept for your website. After we've delivered the concept for your project, we'll move onto revisions so we can fine tune your design until you're perfectly happy with it. Did we mention we offer unlimited revisions to your project FREE of charge?* We're pretty serious about you being completely happy with the design of your new Volusion Web Design, Magento Theme Design, Wordpress Theme Design, or Web Design.

4. Build (Coding)

During this step, we will convert the finalized concept design into a functional website theme. This process usually takes anywhere from 1 day to 10 days depending on what type of design work you're having done. Please keep in mind that no more revisions can be made to your project when it has reached the build phase of our design process.

5. Integration

During this optional phase, we will implement your new website code to your existing website. After everything is integrated we'll hand the reigns back off to you so you can continue expanding your business on the internet. No worries though, we'll be here for support and new projects should you need something in the future.

• What we'll need from you for this step:
  • Volusion Web Design / Volusion Template Design
    • Admin access to your storefront. Create an administrator with our email address CS@SlashedGraphics.com and a password of your choosing. It's easiest to make us a Super Admin on your Volusion website.
    • FTP access to your Volusion server. You can find this by going to my.volusion.com > manage FTP
      • We'll need the hostname, temporary URL, user name, and password.
  • Magento Theme Design
    • Admin access to your storefront. Create an administrator with our email address CS@SlashedGraphics.com and a password of your choosing. You can do this by going to Admin > System > Permissions > Users, click add new user, enter our information, set our role, then click save.
    • FTP access to your web host. You can usually find this by logging in at your host's website, then clicking on the link that says something similar to “Manage FTP Users” or “FTP Accounts”.
    • Please note, we do not install the Magento software for you. Generally web hosts have a program that will allow you to easily install and configure Magento in just a few minutes. Please make sure that Magento is installed on your site, if it isn't by the time your project is at this step, we will email you the theme files so you will be able to install the theme when you're ready.
  • Wordpress Theme Design
    • Admin access to your Wordpress powered website. Create an administrator with our email address CS@SlashedGraphics.com and a password of your choosing. You can do this by going to Admin > Users > Add New User, add our information, set our role as administrator, then click Add New User.
    • FTP access to your web host. You can usually find this by logging in at your host's website, then clicking on the link that says something similar to “Manage FTP Users” or “FTP Accounts”.
  • Web Design (Static Websites)
    • FTP access to your web host. You can usually find this by logging in at your host's website, then clicking on the link that says something similar to “Manage FTP Users” or “FTP Accounts”.

Non-Disclosure

We guarantee that ALL information that you share with us, including contact information, industry information, product information, etc. will remain confidential. Slashed Graphics will never contact your customers, we respect your business.

Once we have started coding your new website (during the build phase), no more revisions can be made to the design. If you have a small change to make to the design, we should be able to get that done for you once the coding is done but please keep in mind, any additional design work after coding has started will be made at our discretion.

*If your project exceeds 5 revisions, we reserve the right to offer no more revisions to your project... but this is unlikely. We only start to get cranky around the 20th revision.
